new to yoga? here's what to expect

Balance & Brews events incorporate group vinyasa yoga practices outside of a yoga studio.  Adequate practice space and qualified instruction will be provided.  Events may offer hands-on assisting and the use of aromatherapy massage products- feel free to let us know before any event if that's not your thing!  Attendees are responsible to bring their own yoga mat and any props, and layering is recommended as practice space temperatures may vary.  

Any medical concerns should be communicated to the Balance & Brews instructor before each practice.

our cancellation policy

Pre-registration is recommended for Balance & Brews events, as there is limited space at many of our host breweries.  Walk-ins are welcome as space allows.  Teachers and location are subject to change for all events.  Registrations are non-refundable and refunds will not be givenbut registrations may be transferred to another attendee for the same event.  You are responsible for your own transfers and any exchange of money. If you transfer a registration, please email melissa@balanceandbrews.com the date of the event, your name, and the name of the person taking over your registration.  Teachers and location subject to change for all events. Thank you for understanding and adhering to this policy.  Your respect of this rule helps us keep administrative costs and efforts down so we can spend our time doing what we love: inspiring, teaching and practicing yoga, and sharing post-practice brews with you!        

emergency & inclement weather policy

All events are rain, snow or shine, but if an event has to be cancelled due to emergency or severe inclement weather, announcement will be posted on our website and all social media pages as soon as possible.  If Balance & Brews or a venue host elects to cancel an event due to emergency or inclement weather, refunds or transferred registrations will be made available as soon as possible after the event.    

 

frequently asked questions

I've never done yoga before.  Can I come to a Balance & Brews event?  

Yes!  Our practices are created for all-levels, including those brand new to the practice.  Variations and modifications will be given for physical poses, allowing any level practitioner to enjoy their practice and stay with their breath.  Our practices focus on breath and presence first, allowing your physical practice to grow from there.     

What should I wear?

No rules.  Just dress comfortably, in clothes you can move freely in.

Do I need a yoga mat?

Events are BYOM(at). We sometimes have mats to borrow, but if you don't have your own, we recommend emailing melissa@balanceandbrews.com (or using social event platforms to inquire) to confirm availability before your event. 

Is there a wait list for events?

If you email melissa@balanceandbrews.com, we will add your name to a wait list and contact you if more space opens up in the event venue.  However, this is rare, and the most effective way to get a spot to a sold out event is to follow us/our events on social media, specifically Facebook.  By subscribing to Facebook events, you'll have the most up-to-date information on upcoming events and any attendees looking to transfer a ticket on a first-come, first-serve basis.
